Although many modern facilities have a few suites (private rooms with special touches of home), most boarded pets are kept in "runs", basically rows of cages in large rooms. As pets enter or leave these rooms, barking and other stressful activity occurs, keeping many of the animals in a constant state of agitation.

We thought you might enjoy learning a bit about how Pet Suites came to be and our philosophy regarding pet care.

Our Founding President, Dr. Norm Costello, a graduate of the University of California - Davis School of Veterinary Medicine was the principal owner of The Animal Keeper, a group of three excellent and highly regarded boarding facilities in San Diego County.

One of Norm's dreams for many years was to use the knowledge he gained at The Animal Keeper to put together a world class boarding facility with a unique concept; a facility consisting solely of "suites".

At Pet Suites, our 94 suites are grouped into boarding pavilions of approximately 16 suites each. Each suite has a tempered glass door which allows your pet to see out across an open court to several of his or her neighbors. Each pavilion has access to its own secure exercise and play yard where your pet is taken by a "pet attendant" several times each day.

When animals enter or leave the pavilion, barking is minimal as most of the pets are unaware of what is taking place.

Although we could have built runs and housed over three times as many pets in our facility, we rejected that idea and placed our emphasis on quality. We strongly felt that a need existed for a pet boarding facility offering comfortable, roomy accommodations and individualized, "hands on" care. The result of Norm's dream was Pet Suites.

Each pavilion of suites features an individual theme and it's own large outdoor play area.

and are members of the American Boarding Kennel Association.

All pets in Doggie Day Camp are served a special treat during Yappy Hour. These treats were developed just for pets, they're good for them and they taste great. Your pet will love Yappy hour! Owners who would like their pets to be served lunch may select from our regular kennel menu or simply "brown bag it." There is no extra charge for feeding pets while at Doggie Day Camp.

There are many reasons to bring your pet to Doggie Day Camp. Some of the more common are: the pet is alone at home during the day and is becoming destructive, lonely or hyperactive. It's a new puppy and simply can't be left alone during the day, or maybe you need help correcting improper behavior. You may want your dog to be better socialized. Doggie Day Camp can be used as a reward for your pet. If you're having work done at home, out of town visitors or some other special occasion you may want the dog out of the house for the day. Whatever the reason, we promise you, your pet is going to have a great day!

Are you a busy pooch parent? Is your pet home alone? Then sign him or her up for Doggie Day Camp. Your pet will enjoy exciting, fun filled days while you're away at work or play. After enjoying an action packed day, your dog will return home relaxed and content without the pent-up energy to which you may be accustomed. Doggie Day Camp will make your pet a greater pleasure to live with.

We know that "dogs enjoy the company of other dogs," so during Doggie Day camp, we assign pets to Play Groups based on their size and temperament. During Play Groups dogs romp and play with one another under the careful supervision of a camp counselor. Your pet will benefit from a great deal of exercise as well as learning how to properly interact with other dogs and people. If your pet needs socialization, Play Groups will be an ideal opportunity for this to occur.

Please ask for rates and inquire about our frequent camper discounts. Vaccination requirements are the same as for boarding dogs. All pets over six months of age must be spayed or neutered. Dogs cannot participate in Play Groups if they are aggressive with people or other dogs. Ask about our Day Care Program if your pet is aggressive.

Pets enrolled in Doggie Day Camp receive a minimum of four hours of Play Groups time during the day.

SERVICES:

Special Feeding: - Pets own food. We are glad to be able to accommodate pets that have special feeding. $2.00 per serving.

Grooming: Spa: - Expert all-breed grooming. Prices vary with breed and coat condition. Call or visit us for a quote.

Doggie Day Camp: - 8 hours of fun! 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. However, we are open Monday thru Friday from 7am to 7pm. All campers in by 9am. Also, Saturdays 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Must be pre-qualified. Includes Social time, group play outdoors, nap time, pool time, Yappy Hour - $25.00 / day dogs

Boarding Guest in Camp: - $16.00 / day

Medications: - We are glad to be able to accommodate pets that need medications. The fee varies with type of medications needed. $ 2.00 per med / per dose,

Resort General Manager - B.S. degree in Animal Science-Pre Vet, License Veterinary Nurse
Resort Assistant Manger - Certified Veterinary Nurse
Resort Kennel Technicians - College students in the Veterinary Nurse program and high school students / college students.

Boarding Rates:

You will be charged for the day your pet arrives and for the day of departure. A complimentary bath will be given on the day your pet departs, if boarding stay is 3 or more days.

Dogs:
Deluxe Suites (single occupancy) $38.00 / day
Deluxe Suites (double occupancy) $68.00 / day
Luxury Suites (single occupancy) $48.00 / day
Luxury Suites (double occupancy) $88.00 / day

Buddy Boarding: - Available for each pet staying with a compatible,
pre-qualified buddy from another family.

Dogs: - Rabies (12 mo. 36 mo.), DHL-P-P (within last 12 mo.), Bordetella (within last 6 mo.)

Tours: - We invite you to take a tour of Pet Suites - Monday - Saturday - from noon until 4:00 P.M.
